FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is an entry form that must be completed by travelers before arriving in Malaysia.
It is not a visa, but rather an online document that shares your personal and trip information with immigration authorities ahead of time. The purpose of the MDAC is to improve border security and make the arrival process more efficient.
When filling out the form, you’ll be asked for details such as your name, passport information, and travel plans. In the past, this form was filled out on arrival, which often resulted in long queues and extended waiting times.
Now, thanks to the digital system, travelers can conveniently submit their details online before departure.
What can I do with the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card can be used for all categories of travel, including tourism, business, and transit purposes.

Entry requirements or restrictions to visit and exit Malaysia
All COVID-19 related entry restrictions have been removed for international travelers.
Malaysia does not recognize dual nationality. To avoid issues at the border, do not attempt to travel with both a Malaysian passport and another country’s passport. Travelers who hold dual citizenship (other than Malaysian) should always use the same passport to enter and depart.
Authorities may require a urine test if there is reasonable suspicion of drug use before or during your stay.
A positive test can result in detention, deportation, or being banned from re-entering Malaysia. Be aware that consuming drugs abroad—even if legal in that country—may still carry penalties under Malaysian law.
